Register via our web-site for a free phone consultation with our specialist or for a free Bell’s palsy Information Day. If you wish, you may take your friend or partner with you to the info-day. Participation is free of charge for everyone.
Speak by phone to our specialist, who will call you for more details about your particular situation. He will give you some necessary advice and recommendations for your daily use.
Make an appointment for the intake-consultation.
- During the intake-consult we will do the Nerve Conduction Study (NCS) to determine how your facial nerve is recovering.
- We will measure how your facial muscles respond to external stimulation as well as to the contraction and relaxation signals coming from your brain.
- We will measure the grade of contractures (over-tension) of your facial muscles, if applicable.
- We will measure your synkinesis and run the neurological tests, which allow to assess the facial symmetry and the coordinated functioning of your facial muscles. This gives us the starting point of your rehabilitation program.
Attend your intake-consultation. During 1 hour of our meeting, we will run all the above tests, assess the condition of your facial muscles and evaluate your motivation to achieve improvements. Without your own strong desire to bring back your smile and without your positive attitude, all efforts of our specialists will be in vain. No motivation – no rehabilitation.
Plan together with the specialist your rehabilitation program. Be prepared to work every day on your face. All the necessary techniques you will learn gradually during your working sessions, which consist of several modules and take place in the clinic every 5-6 weeks. For our patients who come from overseas, we do 2-3 working sessions during each of their visits. Then the interval between visits can be extended to 10-12 weeks.
Attend all your planned working sessions. We will do the Crystal Touch treatments, learn and practice with you various Crystal Touch rehabilitation techniques, and give you your “homework”.
Practice your homework 2-3 times every day. You should invest 7-10 minutes of full dedication each time. Send us your progress reports per email on the agreed dates. Do NOT look countless times into the mirror biting your nails to see the improvements. The less you do it, the sooner they come. Stay positive.
Learn to love and appreciate your face and yourself.
